What age should a child start coding?

Children can start learning to code as early as preschool, but the best age for a child to start coding depends on their individual interests, abilities, and maturity level. Some children may show an interest in coding as early as age 5 or 6, while others may not become interested until they are older.

Typically, children between the ages of 7 and 12 are best suited for introductory coding programs. At this age, children have a basic understanding of math and logic, which are important skills for coding. They also have the ability to focus for longer periods of time and are able to follow instructions.

However, there is no set age for children to start coding, and it's never too late to start learning to code. Even teenagers and adults can start learning to code and may find it a rewarding and challenging hobby or career.

The most important thing is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment for your child to explore coding and other STEM-related activities. By doing so, you can help your child develop important skills that will serve them well in the future.
